Quote Analysis
“If a man like Atticus Finch wants to butt his head against a stone wall, it’s his head.”(pg286)
This quote describes Atticus as a man who is facing impossible odds, and has little hope of succeeding.
Butting ones head against a wall represents facing something difficult strong, challenging, or a feeling of hopelessness. When it mentions its his head, this means its his decision alone and nobody else. On that page and after that one miss Maudie was describing the type of man Atticus is. She was saying he did those things because he wanted to do and no one else in Maycomb county are not brave enough to defend a black man, nor are they as nice and caring as he is. He also has respect for African Americans, while few others dont’.
And the Verdict is……………..Guilty!!!!!!
Unfortunately, the cruel jury found Tom guilty, I don’t even think a single person voted innocent for the poor man. Everyone court room was shocked on what they heard. Now, I understand why Atticus sent the kids home to eat dinner before the Jury came back, he didn’t want his kids to get their hopes up and get them destroyed. Unfortunately, the kids heard the Verdict and they had tears stricken down their faces. In chapter 22, their responses to the end of the Tom Robinson case were melancholy. After the trial Atticus and his kids went home, but Atticus didn’t seem to be phased by what happened, Scout thought thats just how he was and that he bottled his emotions, and by going to bed right away he would escape them. However, even though losing the case, the next morning they found food all over their table, I guess there was some compensation for Atticus just for defending Tom, even though he lost. Miss Maudie also invited the kids to have some cake, by doing this she was saying that nothing has changed. She tried to explain to the kids that Atticus was the type of man he would do things no one else could do, and that he would face impossible odds, because that is the type of man he is. I think this would also be a point were Jem started to mature, because he learned that everything in life isn’t fair, and that the world has its ugly people as well as nice.
Tom on Trial

This here is just a picture of Tom Robinson in court, this pic is fromt the actualy movie To Kill a Mocking Bird. One thing I noticed about this pic, is taht it doesn’t accurately portray Tom Robinsonk, well his physical appearance that is. Notice how his left arm is perfectly fine, but in the book its supposed to mutilated. Do to the lack of special effects back then, they probably couldn’t do the effect with Tom and his disfigured arm.
Mr. Tom Robison
The moment finally came when the book introduced Tom Robinson, which I have been waiting so long for. One thing I would have never guessed though, was that he was a crippled, this shocked me the reader, and other characters in the book. I find it rediculous that mr. Ewells would have the audacity to actually accuse a crippled man of raping his daughter, when he only had one good hand. It is as if he made it obvious to the crowd that he was the one who inflicted those injuries on his daughter. Not only that, Mr. Ewells wasn’t very polite in the court room or respectful ast Tom Robinson. Tom answered every question Atticus, and Mr. Gilmer had asked him with honesty and respect, without ever getting agitated by a single remark. He is truly a respectable man and he could have easily swayed the jury to his side, which was the truth. The truth was that Mr. Ewells daughter tempted a black man and she was beat for it, but that idiot Mr. Ewells thought it would be smart to put Tom in jail for nothing, but in return he might be the one who is thrown in the slammer.

This is a picture just to represent the return of dill, i thought by getting a picture of Austin powers saying “Im back bab yeah!!”, would be funny.
He’s Back……..
In chapter 14 of how to kill a mockingbird comest he unexpected return of none other than Dill. Yes, Dill has returned, but on his own. He was hiding under the bed of scout, until scout noticed something move near her feet and she had Jem find out what was there. Then emerged and starved and filthy Dill, even Atticus witnessed his arrival. They hastefully fetched him some food, and notified his aunt of his return. Scout was distraught by the idea on how Dill could have possibly made it from Meridian to Maycomb several hundred miles away on his own. Dill explained with a creative story saying his step father kept him in a basement and he discovered an animal show and traveled with them to a town outside of Maycomb county, but in actuality all he really did was take money from his mom’s purse and take the train to the Maycomb junction. Scout questioned as to why he woulld possibly want to run away? Dill even said he didn’t have much of a purpose for doing so, he got everything he wanted, his parents said they loved, but they kept to them selves a lot and played with him hardly ever, in my opinion I think this is just Dill’s desperate attempt to get attention and to esacpe boredom.
Bird’s the Word

I thought putting this picture up would be amusing because it inaccurately describes Tim Johnson, because he was a sick dog not a rabid one. Tim was an old man that had mental problems. Everyone thought he needed to an hero but he decided not to for the lulz. He found mudkipz amusing and thought that slowpoke needed to gtfo. If it wasn’t for Seaking, he would have most likely wanted to eat donuts. SEAKINGS RUL3!1!1!. So because of Seaking, he went to /b/. On /b/, he became a /b/tard. From there on, he spoke only of anons and triforce. If only he hadn’t gone to /b/. Tim today now resides next to the forbidden forest in that one Legend of Zelda game. His neighbor is Ganandor and Seakings still infact, rule.
The death of Tim Johnson (TKAM Chapters 9-12)
At the begining of chapter Jem and Scout talk about how they think their father isn’t really all that special in Maycomb county. They quickly noticed he doesn’t play any important roles in the society, hes no farmer, no teacher, or no hunter. They were belittling their father, but not in a disrespectful way. They still loved their dad Atticus in all, but he just seemed incapable because of his age, he would even say that himself. He wouldn’t even participate in a game of touch foot ball at the Methodist church. However, they quickly learn that their father is far more capable and revered than they may know. They especially find out when they see Tim Johnson, a dog, moseying down the street like he was sick. The kids notified Calpurnia and she responded by yelling, “Rapid dog Rapid dog.” She called Atticus and he in the sheriff came down to greet the dog on the street. Since the practical thing to do was put Tim out of his mesiry. The sheriff wouldn’t do the job and insisted that Atticus should do the job. Atticus didn’t hesitate when he took that gone and he fired one shot off at the dog and he went down like a rock. Jem and Scout were in horrified and shocked at the same time, for they finally learned the story of Ol’ one shot.
To kill a mockingbird (chapter 5-9)
while i read through chapter 5-9 it talked about how Jem and Dill started hanging out more and they isolated scout out of the group so that is how Jem and Dill become closer friends. One morning they were talking about how they were going to give a note to Boo Radley. Scout felt left out so she started hanging out with the neighbor. scouts wants to get into the conversation with Jem and Dill. they told her that the only way she could be in the conversation is if she did everything they told her to do. She agreed to do what ever they said. thay told her that she had to go and take the note to Boo radley. After the conversation was over Scout did deliver the note to Boo. also in this section of the book Ms. Maudie’s house gets burnt down. The strange thing is that nobody knows how or who started the fire. And the other thing is that she was happy that happend to her house because she said she could have more space for herself. That is mostly what happened in this part of the book.
